Does Brian Cox smoke a pipe? « Result #1 on Sept 21, 2007, 10:24pm »
Does he smoke a pipe? He seems to play a lot of characters that smoke a pipe and I was just wondering if anyone had any photos or info about him being a pipe smoker.

Re: "The Lear Diaries" « Result #2 on Aug 23, 2006, 11:43am »
And lo-and-behold, I get home yesterday and find my copy of "Salem to Moscow" has arrived!! I had to get it through Alibris.com, and it actually wasn't to highly priced. The reason "Lear Diaries" cost so much was that I had to go through Amazon.com.UK and pay shipping from England to get it. All told I paid $45 for "Lear". (They are both used copies, BTW, but in very good condition)
These were both birthday presents for myself, and they were worth every penny!

I'm so glad to hear someone else has read at least one of Brian Cox' books! He should write more about his experiences - he does have a wonderful way with words.
It's been quite a few years ago already but I think I got both his books via http://www.abebooks.com/ - I just checked and there are a few copies of THE LEAR DIARIES but I *know* I didn't pay as much as they're going for now!

"The Lear Diaries" « Result #4 on Aug 22, 2006, 2:06pm »
I have finally been able to find a copy (or at least one reasonably priced) of "The Lear Diaires", and I've not been able to put it down yet.
The man is a work-aholic..something I can relate to. It strikes me how well he uses the written word - not having any background or understanding of theater productions, I'm still able to recreate everything in my mind as he tells it. I also like how it's very frank and unflinching.
**Should be getting my copy of "Salem to Moscow" any day now....I hope!**

Hey - I'll jump in, too!
I'm Sara, and I'm from Louisville, KY. I've just recently joined the yahoo group as well as kritchkow. What can I say? The man is spectacular! I've been a fan for nearly a decade, but have recently gotten a little more interested in this amazing Scotsman.
So Alan - when do you get to see 'Rock and Roll' in London? Have you all ready been? Would love to hear about it!

Ya it is amazing. His face is captured perfectly. Especially the eyes. The colours at first seem quite odd but they work so well. Not your standard colour scheme but it works.

DEADWOOD Season Three (possible spoilers) « Result #15 on Jun 29, 2006, 6:51pm »
Just checking to see if there are any other fans that watch HBO's DEADWOOD? Finally saw the first episode of season three (True Colors) that had Brian Cox playing "the flamboyant Jack Langrishe." It was quite a treat seeing Brian Cox and Ian McShane together. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the season!

New forum for Brian Cox fans « Result #16 on Jun 27, 2006, 5:06pm »
It has been a couple years since I disabled the forum at http://www.coxian.com/forum/ due to lack of activity and just plain not having the time to keep the forum scripts up-to-date with upgrades. We have been using the discussion list (see info at http://coxian.com/fans/discussion.shtml ) but the announcements and messages in that YahooGroup are for members-only. I thought I'd give the forum another try using proboards so that 1) it's in a familiar forum format that even un-registered members can at least read and 2) I won't have to worry about maintaining the forum scripts on coxian.com - enjoy! Feedback and suggestions are always welcome.
